The REAL State of the State

Source:
Alex Sink

You and I both know that building a plan to create jobs now and restore our economy for the future should be our state's number one priority. So why did Governor Crist avoid the brass-tacks of specific solutions? Because Crist, Bill McCollum, and other career politicians in Tallahassee don't have the real-world experience to understand what it will take to turn Florida's economy around. The answer to our economic challenges will come from partnering Florida's small business owners, entrepreneurs, and working families with a governor who knows what it takes to create jobs and prosperity. I think it's about time we roll up our sleeves to get Floridians back to work now and restore Florida's economy for the long-term. That's why I want to hear from you. How has the current economic crisis affected you and your family?

Fear, socialism, and Blackwater

Source:
Jen O'Malley Dillon, Democrats.org

Yesterday, reporters exposed a confidential Republican National Committee fundraising proposal, uncovering their plan to run "an aggressive campaign capitalizing on 'fear' of President Barack Obama and a promise to 'save the country from trending toward socialism.'" The memo even included grotesque caricatures of Democratic leaders -- including Speaker Nancy Pelosi as Cruella De Vil and President Obama as the Joker from Batman. We're ready to go toe-to-toe with the GOP. We'll prove that this kind of politics is no match for real grassroots strength and a commitment to making America better -- but we need your help. Keep the momentum going

Kendrick Meek

On behalf of the Kendrick Meek and our campaign, we thank you. I challenged you last week, to help us make history in Florida, and you responded. Our Chair Karen Thurman knew you'd come through for us, and she was right. No Senate candidate in Florida history has ever qualified for the ballot through a statewide petition process. Then again, Kendrick is no ordinary candidate. Well as the final weeks of this petition drive are upon us, you are not too late to act. We're in striking distance of meeting our goal, and there are three ways you can help put us over the top:

1. If you haven't yet, click here to print, sign, and mail in your copy of the petition.

2. Then, forward this message to five of your friends and family and ask them to sign our petition today.

3. Finally, help us spread the word on Facebook and Twitter. Post this message: Help @KendrickMeek qualify for the Nov. Senate election. Join 100k Floridians - print, sign, & mail our petition: http://bit.ly/4FneJi

A Final Vote on Health Care Reform

Source:
President Barack Obama

Last Thursday's first-of-its-kind summit capped off a debate that has lasted nearly a year. Every idea has now been put on the table. Every argument has been made. Both parties agree that the status quo is unacceptable and gets more dire each day. Today, I want to state as clearly and forcefully as I know how: Now is the time to make a decision about the future of health care in America. The final march for reform has begun, and your participation is crucial. Please commit to join with me to take reform across the finish line:
